The UK's Best and Worst Jobs

Job search engine Adzuna.co.uk carried out some research back in September 2013 in order to discover the best and worst occupations in the UK. The study involved scoring each job title based on 25 different criteria such as working conditions and job security. The scores were then combined in order to produce the overall result. 


Worst Jobs of 2013


The study has shown that Miners and Couriers have the worst jobs in the UK - this is due to lowest potential for an increase in income, working conditions and other factors. Other jobs on the 'worst' end of the spectrum include HGV Drivers and Electricians.


Best Jobs of 2013 


The jobs voted best include Web Developers, Translators and Surgeons. This is due to higher levels of income, potential for growth and job security. Web Developers were also voted one of the most stress free jobs due to a high standard of working environments and increasing salaries.


The Most Stressful Jobs of 2013


According to the study, Oil Riggers and Pilots are exposed to the most physical and emotional stress. Journalists also ranked rather high on this list due to a working to strict deadlines under high pressure.


Due to lack of deadlines and physical labour - Translators and Librarians ranked least stressful.
